The calculator picks a number between 1 and 1000. Can you guess which one it is ?
The Minder is a simple number-guessing game made in high-school. The game was made as a joke at first, but the final product has a standard mode, a hard mode, and a secret mode which only good players can unlock !

The first game I ever made !
Now why would I promote a game made on a calculator of all things ? Well this game marked my game dev debut back in high school !
It all started with a strong desire to play games during class. Back in the day, I was prohibited from playing video games during school days, but early mobile games and calculator games were popular time-killers. With no easy way to create a mobile game, I took the second option and started coding on my Casio calculator.

The first game I wanted to make was a platformer ! But I quickly realized how difficult and tedious it would be to program all the engine, so I scaled way back and made a number guessing game instead.
When the base game of guessing a number between 1 and 1000 was completed, I upgraded the presentation by adding High-score tracking, a main menu, a Hard Mode with limited guess attempts, and a secret “Super Hardcore Mode” with even fewer guess attempts available. The secret mode was unlocked by beating Hard Mode with 5 guess or less.
I was really proud of my harder and secret modes, but the crown jewel of the game to me was its personality. I wrote the content of the game as if an AI inside the calculator was daring the player to win against it, and it would get mad if the player was successful, or cheeky during Hard Mode and Super Hardcore Mode.
This game really made the rounds back in the day, but sadly the prototype was lost along with my old calculator… I’m still mad about that !
